Being better informed makes for better decisions. Have a question or two? Check out these helpful FAQs or get in touch with the team.

What can I use a wedding loan for?

Any part of the big day - the venue, catering, the dress or suit, rings, photography, flowers, or the honeymoon. You can put it toward one big cost or spread it across the whole wedding. If it's helping you celebrate, a wedding loan can usually help cover it.

How much can I borrow for a wedding loan?

It depends on your plans, your income, your existing debts, and what you can comfortably afford to repay. Lenders look at your full financial position to work out a suitable amount. Subject to lender criteria and approval.

How long are wedding loan terms?

Wedding loan terms typically range from one to five years, giving you room to choose a repayment period that fits your situation. A shorter term means less interest overall, while a longer term lowers the repayments but usually costs more in total.

How is my wedding loan interest rate decided?

Your rate is personalised. It's based on things like your credit history, your financial position, and the loan details. You can see the current rate range in the Loan Information section below, and use the calculator to get a feel for repayments (a guide only until we assess your application).

Do you offer fixed or variable-rate wedding loans?

We offer fixed-rate wedding loans. A fixed rate means your repayments stay the same for the life of the loan, so they're predictable and simple to budget for around a big event.

What fees are involved in a wedding loan?

Wedding loans usually have an establishment fee and an introducer fee. Some lenders also charge ongoing account fees. We'll spell out every fee before you go ahead, so there are no surprises. Full fee details, including a worked example, are in the Loan Information section below and in your loan contract.

Are wedding loans secured or unsecured?

They can be either. Most wedding loans are unsecured, so you don't need to put up an asset like your car as security - that keeps the process straightforward and is why it's a popular choice. A secured loan uses an asset as security, which may let you borrow more or get a lower rate, but it does tie that asset to the loan. We can talk through which suits your situation.

Can I get a wedding loan with bad credit?

Possibly. A less-than-perfect credit history doesn't automatically rule you out - we work with lenders who understand that past financial issues don't define your future. They look at your income and whether you can comfortably afford the repayments. Rates may be higher and the amount you can borrow may be lower. Keeping up with repayments can also help rebuild your credit over time. Subject to lender criteria and approval.

Can I get a wedding loan if I'm self-employed?

Yes - being self-employed doesn't rule you out. Lenders will usually want to see proof of income, like bank statements or financial records, to understand what you can comfortably repay. We'll let you know what's needed.

How quickly can I get the money?

It varies, but with all your information in, approval can be same-day. Once you're approved and everything's signed, funds are often available the same or next day, depending on the lender. Approval is subject to meeting lending criteria, and an affordability test applies.

Will applying for a wedding loan affect my credit score?

When you start an application, we run a soft credit check to size up your options - and a soft check doesn't affect your credit score. It's only if you go ahead with a lender, and they run a full credit check, that it's recorded on your credit file and may affect your score. Applying with several providers can mean several checks.

Can I repay my wedding loan early or make lump-sum payments?

Yes, in most cases you can make early or lump-sum repayments, which can reduce the total interest you pay. Some lenders allow extra repayments without a fee, while others may charge an early repayment fee, so it's worth checking your loan contract first.

What happens if I miss a repayment?

Get in touch with your lender as soon as you can - the earlier the better. Missing a repayment may mean a late fee and could affect your credit score. If you're struggling, many lenders have hardship options and can look at short-term relief or an adjusted repayment plan, so keeping the lines open is the most important thing.

Loan Information

Fixed interest rates for vehicle loans range from 7.95% p.a. to a maximum of 29.95% p.a. on a minimum 12 month to a maximum 84-month loan term. Fixed interest rates for personal loans range from 9.95% p.a. to a maximum of 29.95% p.a. on a minimum 12 month to a maximum 84-month loan term. The actual interest rate charged to you will depend on your circumstances, the type of lending required and the security provided.

Fees apply, including an establishment fee of up to $350 and an introducer fee of up to $995. Also, lenders may charge a PPSR fee of between $0 and $14. For example: On a loan of $10,000 over 24 months at 9.95% p.a. with Establishment and Introducer fees totalling $495 and a PPSR Fee of $7.39, the total amount to repay is $11,627 which is 24 monthly payments of $485. Those amounts don't include ongoing fees, such as Service Fees, charged by the lender. You can find full fee information in the loan contract. We recommend that you check the fees before accepting the loan offer. See more about lender fees here.
